Kings, O'Sullivan Reach Deal

POSTED: 7:40 pm EDT October 7, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Kings and center Patrick O'Sullivan agreed on a three-year contract Tuesday. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

A restricted free agent, O'Sullivan registered 22 goals and 31 assists in 82 games last season for the Kings, who posted a dismal 32-43-7 record to finish at the bottom of the Western Conference standings.

The 23-year-old O'Sullivan was originally selected by Minnesota in the second round (56th overall) of the 2003 draft. The Wild shipped the young pivot along with a first-round pick to Los Angeles in exchange for Pavol Demitra on June 24, 2006.

O'Sullivan has 27 goals and 45 assists in 126 career games with Los Angeles.

The Kings open the 2008-09 regular season Saturday at San Jose.
